Paris, Tenn.–Just a few days after reaching one milestone, the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction reached another today when it reached the $250,000 threshold–$205,124 to be exact. It was earlier this week that Helping Hand had reached the $200,000 milestone for the year.
Today’s auction started with a sizeable donation of$25,000 from Holy Cross Catholic Church (covered in a separate story posted this morning).
Today’s items were donated by Paris Soccer Club, Henry Co. Genealogical Society, Henry Co. Cemetery Committee, Henry County Archives, and Henry County Chamber Music Society. Auctioneer today was Andy Collins, with help on the phones from the Paris Rotary Club.
Tomorrow promises to be another big day, with the First Baptist Church in Paris donating items. Saturday’s auction begins at noon.
The annual auction started Jan. 10 and will continue through March 2, raising funds for over 80 local non-profit and service organizations.
Photos of items that are donated each day are posted on the “Henry County Helping Hand” Facebook page. Anyone who wants to bid on any item can describe the item or give the number of the item as posted on the Facebook page.
The auction is broadcast daily over WTPR 101.7 FM and 710 AM. You can also listen on our website at www.radionwtn.com, where it is live streamed.
