Erin, Tenn.–The Houston County Archives is now the Houston County Archives & Museum.
On January 31, 2022, the Houston County Legislative Body voted unanimously to add “Museum” to the title . Since the Houston County Archives was established in 2010, they have been working very hard to collect, preserve and share the rich history of Houston County, Tennessee.
With their many displays and exhibits, they encourage everyone to visit them and learn about the history of Houston County. We are open for visitors Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closing for lunch between 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Located at 4725 East Main Street in Erin, Tennessee in the basement of the Houston County Courthouse.
They also accept records donations of documents, photographs, artifacts and anything having to do with Houston County, Tennessee and its people.
