Paris, Tenn.–Out of an abundance of caution, Henry County Mayor John Penn Ridgeway has decided to close Henry County General Government Offices, Friday, February 4. Henry County Courts will be suspended today as well.
Thursday’s ice storm caused numerous power outages through out the county due mainly to fallen trees and heavy limbs. As of 8 a.m. this morning, around 700 customers continue to be without power, according to the Paris Board of Public Utilities.
County EMA Director Ron Watkins said, “During the evening hours, a mixture of snow and freezing rain coated streets and roads. With temperatures in the low 20’s last night, steps, sidewalks, and side roads will be slick.”
County offices closed include: Henry County Courts, Courthouse, Courthouse Annex, Central
Community Building, Airport, Archives, Election Office, Health Dept, and Recycling Center.
