Gordon Macpherson, age 96 of Paris, TN, died Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at his home.
He retired in 1998, after 24 years, as CEO of 4 Tecumseh Motor Plants. Gordon was a long-standing member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Great Britain.
Gordon was born December 27, 1925, in Glasgow, Scotland, where he later graduated from Strathclyde University. He was married September 12, 1969, to Margaret Mitchell Peden Macpherson, who survives, of Paris.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by two sons, John G. (Kelley Moran, Ph.D.) Macpherson of Kingsport, TN, and Kenneth A. (Amy E.) Macpherson, Ph.D., of Fairbanks, AK; and one step-granddaughter, Haley Whittle of Kingsport, TN.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN 38242. The body is to be cremated with no services planned at this time. Gordon’s cremains will be returning home to North Berwick, Scotland.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorials be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund (curealz.org).
