Paris, Tenn.–The Helping Hand Board of Directors has voted to continue the radio-only auction and to cancel the non-radio evening in-house auctions that had been scheduled for February 12th and 19th.
Helping Hand President John Berryman said the daytime radio auctions for those two days will still be held.
In a press release issued this morning, Berryman said, “The decision to forgo the in-person auction was made based on a threshold of 15 positive cases per day in Henry County. Since the board made that decision the case count in Henry County has quadrupled.
“We will continue to monitor the numbers and will revisit the situation in two weeks. Based on current trends, it seems unlikely that the case count will drop below the threshold of 15 positive cases per day before the end of the auction, but we continue to hope. The Board would like nothing better than to be able to safely return to our normal in-person auction format, but the health and safety of our fellow Henry Countians is our foremost concern.
“Until we can go back to the in-person auction that we all love, we ask you to please look at the individual item photos on our daily Facebook posts, listen to the radio broadcast each day on WTPR 710 AM or 101.7 FM or on the website at www.radionwtn.com, and as always, bid high and bid often!
Items donated today are from New Harmony Baptist Church, Sprks St. Church of Christ, HCHS Band Boosters/Color Guard; Inman Band; Heritage Center; Henry Co. Historical Society.
