Paris, Tenn.–Puryear Native Gary “Peanut” Paschall took everyone down Memory Lane Friday when he recounted “The Puryear Story” before a full house at the Paris-Henry County Heritage Center. In an interactive presentation, Paschall told the history of Puryear and its citizens. The presentation was part of the Paris-Henry County Bicentennial “200 Years of Making History” Lunch & Learn programs that will be held each month through June of this year. In photo, Paschall is displaying the cheese slicer that was used at Littleton’s Store (later Dobbins Store) in Puryear, along with Bicentennial Committee Vice Chair Jackie Jones. Paschall said the cheese slicer is at least 100 years old. (Marsha Valentine Banasiewicz photo).
