
Paris, Tenn.–A Humboldt man was convicted of rape and aggravated statutory rape at the conclusion of a two-day jury trial in Henry County Circuit Court Wednesday.
32-year-old Justin Barker was convicted on two counts of rape and one count of agggravated statutory rape. The charges involve a minor whose age is between 13 and 18.
Barker was arrested following an incident at a Henry County resort in 2016.
The trial began earlier this week and the jury deliberated some 1 1/2 hours. Assistant District Attorney Rebecca Griffey represented the state and Jackson Attorney David Camp represented Barker.
Barker will be sentenced at 10 a.m. March 21 at the local court.
