Union City, Tenn.–In order to ensure that ALL of Obion County citizens affected by the tornado on Friday night have access to storm assistance, the Obion County Fair has started a relief fund at Security Bank and Trust in Union City with a donation of $10,000.
According to Craig McManus, Fair President, “For 64 years, Obion County has supported the fair and, now, it is our turn to give back to our community while they are in need.” There are several accounts set up throughout the county, but this one is for ALL OBION COUNTY RESIDENTS affected by the storm. The name of the account is the OBION COUNTY TORNADO RELIEF FUND. Be sure to specify the account name.
Donations may also be made online through GoFundMe at https://gofundme/94fe3168.
All of the money collected will be donated to and dispersed through the United Way of Obion County. 100% of the money donated stays in Obion County and 100% is used for tornado relief. “Knowing that your donations stay local is important to those who have contacted us to give,” said Mr. McManus. “We don’t want to leave anyone out.”
