Graves County Sheriff’s Office Receives Patrol Cars To Replace Those Destroyed In Tornado

graves-co-sher-cars

Mayfield, Ky.–Thanks to officials in Boyle County, the Graves County Sheriff’s Office has received a caravan of new patrol cars to replace those damaged and destroyed in Friday’s tornado.
Here is the full statement from Graves County Sheriff Jon Hayden:
As many of you know, the terrible storm Friday night damaged several of our patrol vehicles, rendering several inoperable. That caused an issue with deputies being able to patrol, answer calls for service, etc.
I received a call yesterday from the Kentucky Sheriff’s Association Director Jerry Wagner. He told me that he had received several calls from sheriff’s offices across Kentucky and other states that were concerned about our agency, and had offered assistance in anything that the Graves County Sheriff’s Office needed, to get us back in our feet and to help us in our ability to protect our residents. He then told me to be expecting a visit today from the Boyle County Kentucky Sheriff.
This morning, a caravan pulled in the parking lot of our crippled courthouse as plans were being made to relocate.
Boyle County Sheriff Derek Robbins, Boyle County Judge Executive Howard Hunt III, Boyle County Magistrate Phil Sammons and President of the Kentucky Association of Counties, along with several of their deputy sheriff’s arrived.
They delivered to us, 4 fully equipped patrol cars fully outfitted, as a donation to our department. The patrol cars were crammed full of items to distribute to our displaced residents, collected from citizens of their city and county. In addition to that, they presented me with a monetary donation of just over $5,000 dollars for the Mayfield-Graves County Tornado Relief Fund.
Graves County Commissioners Tyler Goodman, Todd Hayden, and Richie Galloway happened to be present upon their arrival.
We expressed our gratitude and the gratitude of our community for their generosity and kindness.
The kindness that all of us are seeing from so many in our community, across the state, and nation certainly makes us proud to be Kentuckians, and Americans.
