Dresden, Tenn.–Returning to the Betty Lou Winstead Memorial Theatre for the first time in two years, the Dresden High School Choir took the stage Thursday evening to present a variety of music genres to the near capacity crowd. Director Jacob Abbott praised the hard work of the performers and the support of the school’s administration. The choir includes (top, from left) Rebecca Chessor, Kiana Vaquera, Leeanne Morefield, Nick Skartsen, Aaron Fulcher, Kaelie Nickey, Chelsey Sullivan; Jacob Abbott on drum, (bottom row) Nakenzi Jones, Serenity Ragan, Alexis Scrivner, Cayden Lowry, Austin Peevyhouse, Gwen Nelson, and Abbigail Hays. Along with familiar seasonal favorites by the choir, soloists and small ensembles delighted the audience with selections ranging from pop to country. Nick Skarsten played guitar and sang “Patience.” Austin Peevyhouse also accompanied himself on “Livin’ on Love.” Kaelie Nickey sang one of the newest selections performed “Easy on Me.” Kiana Vaquera presented Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” Choir alumni joined the current choir for the final number, “Hold Me, Rock Me.”
