Samburg, Tenn.–The Obion County Sheriff’s Office is confirming that the Samburg Fire Station took a direct hit from the tornado strike this evening and people are trapped in the building.
Tonight’s storms have caused outages to 2239 of Gibson Electric members’ homes and businesses in Lake and Obion counties. Crews have been dispatched and will restore service as quickly as they safely can. Meanwhile, a mass casualty incident has been reported after a tornado in the same cell struck an Arkansas nursing home.
The Tornado Alley Weather Center is reporting EMS personnel on scene at the Monette Nursing Facility in Craighead County, Arkansas, are reporting at least 80 people injured. Several people are still trapped under the collapsed roof. News outlets are saying that at least two people have died there.
