Paris, Tenn.–A tree which fell on a transmission line in the Whitlock area was to blame for a widespread power outage in Henry County this afternoon.
Paris BPU officials said the outage impacted over 4,000 customers at the height of the outage.
As of 4:30 p.m., BPU Marketing Director Meagan Hart said some 1,700 customers in the Puryear area were still out and crews are working to restore power.
