McKenzie, Tenn.–The McKenzie Rebels advance to the TSSAA semifinals Friday night and will attempt to keep their unbeaten record alive taking on Trenton Peabody High School playing in McKenzie. Here’s a little history.
The Division 1 bracket has four teams remaining, McKenzie, Peabody on one side will attempt to move on to the championship game on Dec. 3 in Chattanooga against the winner of the Cloudland and South Pittsburg game. McKenzie has scored 105 points in the playoffs and their defense has held opponents to 20 points. Peabody had scored 129 points and held their opponents to 18 points. On the other side Cloudland has scored 124 points and held opponents to 61 while South Pittsburg has scored 145 while containing their opponents to 21. Powerful offense plus stingy defense has sled all four to the semi-finals. All four teams began the playoffs as #1 seeds in their regions.
