Union City, Tenn.–An 11-0 burst to start the game propelled the Union City Middle School boys to a 49-40 win over Milan and their third straight victory Thursday night.

UC (5-6) got eight first-quarter points from Trey Pitts and seven more from Jayden Evans on its way to a 21-8 lead after the first six minutes.

It was 27-20 and halftime, and the Twisters outscored the visitors 13-8 after the Bulldogs had closed to within 36-32 with three quarters in the book.

Pitts finished with a team-best 15 points while Evans netted 14.
