Paris, Tenn.–Thanks to the hard work of the Paris Parks Department, downtown Paris is aglow with Christmas cheer. A new feature in the Downtown Plaza are giant Christmas ornaments which are sure to be popular with young and old and be a new spot for photo opportunities this season. The 12-foot Christmas tree that sits atop the fountain was lit last night, along with the arches to the front and back entrances of the plaza. With holiday decorations on the court square–including a lit Christmas tree on the courthouse lawn–downtown Paris is ready for the Christmas Festival, which will be held Saturday, December 11, with trackless train rides, Movies in the Street, North Pole Climb, Santa in his house and the annual Electric Christmas Parade at 5 p.m. (Shannon McFarlin photo).
