Buchanan, Tenn.–The American Legion Post 89 held an essay contest for Lakewood Middle School students and a coloring contest for students in Lakewood Elementary School. Essay winners were awarded ribbons and got to ride in the Henry County Veteran’s Day Parade on Saturday, November 6.
Students in pre-K through grade 5 were given an opportunity to color Veteran-themed pages. Participants were given certificates and their works of art are being donated to Veterans who live in local nursing homes.
