
“A Stop on the Henry County Stagecoach Route” program will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, November 4, at 7115 Hwy 54, near Como. The public is welcome.
Dr. Tommy Townsend will give the presentation as part of the Henry County Historical Society’s quarterly meeting and it will be held at the Townsend home, where the stagecoach stop was located.
Dr. David Webb, president, will update members and visitors on the status of the society’s 1927 American LaFrance fire engine, which is entering its final stages of restoration by Pipestone Restorations of Waverly, Tennessee. A gold leaf specialist from North Carolina plans to begin his work on the apparatus in a few days.
In addition, the society will discuss upcoming Paris and Henry County’s 200th birthday events with the official bicentennial launch at the courthouse beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 7th.
