Paris, Tenn.–Can’t You See?
We’ll all be seeing the Marshall Tucker Band next summer when they perform a free concert in downtown Paris to kick off Tennessee River Jam 2022.
Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce CEO Travis McLeese confirmed that the Marshall Tucker Band will be the headliners at next year’s Jam. “We’re excited to be able to have the Marshall Tucker Band her to kick everything off for us,” McLeese said.
The four-day Tennessee River Jam will be held from June 16-19, with the Marshall Tucker Band set to appear June 16. As in previous years, the Jam will feature dozens of artists and local venues over that four-day span.
Details on the other bands that will appear will be announced in February or March. “We finalized negotiations with the Marshall Tucker Band late last week and we’re negotiating with other artists right now.”
The Marshall Tucker Band, with Southern roots from Spartanburg, South Carolina, has a sound that incorporates country, blues and jazz and they helped to establish the Southern rock genre. They are known for hits such as “Can’t You See” and “Heard It In A Love Song”.
“We’ve had multiple meetings, starting right after last summer’s Tennessee River Jam, actually, discussing how we can improve the fan experience even more,” McLeese said.
The 2021 Jam featured a free downtown concert by the Oak Ridge Boys that drew thousands of people to downtown Paris.
