Union City, Tenn.–The Tennessee Highway Patrol has released its preliminary report on the three-vehicle accident which claimed the life of a Union City High School senior on Sunday.
Senior Julianne Becton was airlifted from the scene and died of her injuries at The Med in Memphis. Two other UCHS students, senior Kaigan Davis and sophomore Kyler Southerland, were also injured in the wreck and were briefly hospitalized locally. Both were treated and released Sunday evening.
A Lake County High School senior Levi Stover was injured and is a patient at The Med in Memphis.
The accident occured Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Hwy. 45 and Pleasant Hill Road in Obion County and involved a 2020 Jeep Compass, a 1999 International Tractor Trailer and a 1998 Inernational Tractor Trailer.
The truck drivers–James Terry, age 79, of Troy; and Colby McBride, age 36 of Troy–were not injured, according to the patrol report.
The accident remains under investigation.
