Houston County, Tenn.–In all, two residences, a couple garages, a camper, and several vehicles were destroyed by fire Monday as high winds hampered efforts by six fire departments and a State Forestry crew in Houston County.

A Houston County Fire Department spokesperson told RadioNWTN this afternoon that the fire marshal has concluded the fire was accidental. She also there were no injuries reported in the incident.

She said firefighters were called to Hwy. 147 and Southernaire Loop around 3:30 p.m.

Firefighters were on the scene for several hours into the evening and were hampered by the high winds being experienced. “Luckily, it began raining later on, which did help,” she said.

Houston County Fire Department thanked Houston County Mayor James Bridges, City of Erin Fire Department, Tennessee Ridge Fire Department, Sylvia-Yellow Creek Fire Department, Stewart County Fire Department, Humphreys County Fire Department, McEwen Fire Department, and Tennessee Forestry for all for the mutal aid assistance provided on the call.
