Paducah, Ky.–A Mayfield contractor who was assisting in the construction of the new Lone Oak Middle School was arrested for theft of some $18,000 in copper wiring. Detectives determined the suspect had been selling copper wire in Tennessee.
The charges date back to May 14, 2021, when a contractor assisting in the construction of the new Lone Oak Middle School reported a theft of approximately $18,000 in new copper wiring. The theft occurred during the previous night.
Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene to collect evidence. While investigating, detectives believed that a golf cart had been used to help facilitate the hauling of the wire to another location. Employees of Rolling Hills Country Club assisted detectives and reviewed their security camera footage and also stated that a golf cart had been located in an odd area. A suspect was seen in the security camera footage and a cell phone was located in the golf cart that had been moved.
After executing search warrants for the cell phone, detectives developed a suspect they could clearly tell was the same male in the Rolling Hills camera footage. Detectives also learned that the suspect, Dustin Kincer, had been selling copper wire in Tennessee.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Kincer and it was served on him at the Graves County Jail on September 29, 2021.
Kincer, 40 years old, was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft by Unlawful Taking Over $10,000.
