Dresden, Tenn.–Twenty-one years ago, Dresden High School FFA birthed the Redneck Games and last night the newest members of the chapter not only carried on the tradition but took steps to multiply its impact. Westview FFA joined the shenanigans to learn just how to masterfully pull off such events as the Toilet Paper Toss, Panty Hose Tater Bowling, and the Rotten Egg Relay.
Originally launched as a means for students and FFA alumni to interact, the games have now become a recruitment tool and a fundraiser. While the games are free, alumni staff the concession stand and use the proceeds to help pay for students’ trips and other needed resources.
Westview FFA sponsor Kyle Rogers and members joined DHS FFA including sponsors Jonathan Holden, Jessica Browning and Jason Kemp this year to learn the ropes (yes a Tug of War was among the games) and have a great time.
