Union City, Tenn.–Students and staff at Union City Schools are mourning the sudden death of sophomore Parker Vowell.
Vowell, a popular 16-year-old special education student and member of the Tornado Rise program at UC High School, passed away unexpectedly today after a recent illness.
UCHS students and those on the other two Union City Schools campuses were informed of Vowell’s passing mid-morning.
Counselors were available for students today and will remain in that capacity until the end of the week, according to Union City Director of Schools Wes Kennedy.
Kennedy also offered condolences and prayers to Vowell’s family and many friends.
Funeral arrangements for Vowell are incomplete at this time.
