Waverly, Tenn.–The Waverly School district was among those hit hard by Saturday’s catastrophic flooding with extensive damage to school buildings and structures.
On the Waverly Tiger Football twitter account, Waverly School officials said, “We have lost our stadium, game field, practice field, weight room and locker room. Pray for our team!”
Henry County High School officials said they had a chance to touch base with Waverly Central High School Principal Shawn Stookey, who told them due to damage to the school buildings, there is currently not a way for them to store donations at the school.
A Waverly Central High School flood relief fund is being set up that will enable them to purchase needed supplies for their students as they assess their needs. If you would like to help in this way, donations can be sent to:
Waverly Central High School

1325 Hwy 70 West
Waverly, TN 37185
School officials said, “Please continue to keep this community in your thoughts and prayers.”
Humphreys County Schools are closed all this week. Decisions regarding the reopening of schools will be made week by week. They will release more information as we assess the situation of our school system infrastructure and the conditions in the county.
