
Union City, Tenn.–The Obion County Fair will open Saturday with pageants, carnival, Mud Race and the kick-off ceremonies. This year’s theme is “Heroes Unite”.
This year, by popular demand, the pageants will be held in the morning and early afternoon. Beginning at 9 a.m., all the pageants will be held including Wee Miss, Toddler, Tiny Miss, Petite Miss, Little Miss, Young Miss, Junior Miss, Teen Fairest, culminating in the Fairest of the Fair which begins at 1 p.m.
The carnival opens on Saturday at 3 p.m., following by the opening ceremonies at 6 p.m., Mud Race at 7 p.m. and Nightly Drawing at 7 p.m.
There will be plenty going on at the Fair this year, with a blend of new and old activities including a rodeo, duck calling contest, Truck and Tractor Pull, Show Me Safari, Champion Wrestling and Demolition Derby. The Fairshow Musical will return this year. The Livestock Auction is held on Tuesday night.
Sunday’s activities will include the opening of the Commercial Exhibits from 5-10 p.m., carnival opens at 5, Jordan Skoda Band at 7 and Nightly Drawing at 10.
