Paris, Tenn.–Paris Landing Park Ranger Gina Lowry smiles as she releases a Bald Eagle back into the wild at the park Thursday morning. Some 50 people were on hand to watch. This is Lowry’s third time releasing a rehabilitated Bald Eagle and she said it’s still just as exciting. Lowry explained the adult Bald Eagle was brought to the park in May with symptoms of fatigue, malnutrition, and dehydration. The Eagle was transported to the Mid South Raptor Center in Memphis where it received medical care and was rehabilitated. With help from Regional Naturalist David Haggard, the Eagle was transported back to the Paris Landing Raptor Center Wednesday afternoon and spent the night there before its big release.
