Union City, Tenn.–A Union City man was arrested following a shooting incident Saturday night.
Jonathan North, age 23, has been charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly confessed to firing two shots at a vehicle which was occupied by three persons.
At 9:10 p.m., Union City Police responded to shots being fired at a vehicle in the area of Nash and Mercer St.
According to a press release issued by Lt. Derrick O’Dell, responding officers were able to locate the shooting scene in the 700 block of Melrose Street. Officers found two bullet strikes to the vehicle which had been occupied by three individuals at the time of the shooting, Isaiah Jones, Demond Burrow and Treymon Harrell.
The occupants said they were northbound on Melrose when they heard multiple gunshots. The occupants said the vehicle was struck in the back windshield behind the right rear passenger and on the rocker panel under the rear passenger door. Occupants advised they were not injured during the incident.
Investigation revealed that two different weapons were used during the shooting.
North told police he shot two shots into the car. O’Dell said it is believed Mr. North was accompanied by a second shooter. Mr. North has been charged with aggravated assault.
