Paris, Tenn.–Drew Weatherly won Overall Grand Champion at Saturday’s Country Ham Sale at the Henry County Fair. But that’s not all of the story–it was his first time to participate in the Henry County’s Country Ham project.
He is the son of Adam and Cassie Weatherly and his ham was purchased by Leon and Shirley Rogers.
A large crowd was on hand for the Sale, which was emceed by Bobby Milam.
The Country Ham Sale represents the culmination of a lot of hard work over months and months by local students and 4-H members. Drew’s mother said “Thank you to the Henry County Fair, Henry County 4-H, Clifty Farms and all of our community members who came out to purchase the hams. Thanks for giving these kids such a neat opportunity!”
Other big winners at the 2021 sale: Reserve Grant Champion James Wilson, son of Jon and Amanda Wilson; Senior High Champion Paige Craig, son of Tuffy and Donna Craig; Senior High Reserve Champion Katie Bullion, daughter of David and Rebecca Bullion; Junior High Champion Allie Paschall, daughter of Alan and Amanda Paschall and Junior High Reserve Champion Dallas Craig, son of Tuffy and Donna Craig.
