Dyersburg, Tenn.–A Dyersburg woman is charged with running over her son with a car and then hiding the vehicle behind her house.
Her son was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
On Thursday afternoon, Dyersburg police responded to Harris Street in reference to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle, and the driver left the scene. Officers arrived to find the 42-year-old victim suffering from injuries that required medical treatment.
The suspect vehicle was located behind a residence at the home of Judy Barham, 65, Dyersburg.
The vehicle’s front windshield was caved in, and marks were on the hood of the car.
The victim and witnesses confirmed that Barham was the driver, and she was interviewed by law enforcement. Barham reported that her son had been in an altercation with an individual earlier, and her son was walking down the street to confront the man. Barham drove to her son’s location which led to an argument between Barham and her son. Barham allegedly drove away, turned around, and drove back toward her son, running him over with her car. Barham then parked her vehicle behind her house.
Barham is charged with aggravated assault, and tampering with evidence. Barham was jailed pending Dyersburg City Court action. The victim was transported to West Tennessee Healthcare for treatment.
