Dyersburg, TN— Sunday evening Dyersburg police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration on Lake Road. The officer made contact with the driver, Jenard Henning, 24, Ripley, when the officer detected the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a handgun with 33 rounds of ammunition and suspected marijuana.
Henning was issued misdemeanor citations for unlawful possession of a firearm, simple possession of schedule VI, and issued a citation for the traffic infraction. The firearm, ammunition, and suspected marijuana was seized by DPD. Henning has a court appearance in Dyersburg City Court on July 20.
