Paris, Tenn.–Henry County Mayor John Penn Ridgeway and his wife Melissa were among the over 800 people enjoying the annual Water Fun Run Saturday, a fundraiser for the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce, despite the heat and humidity. With the theme “Peace & Love Water Fun Run”, stops were set up at several locations on Kentucky Lake, including Paris Landing, Buchanan Resort, Brownfield Riverside Resort, Fat Daddy’s, Cypress Springs, Hawley & McCadams Party Dock, Leatherwood Resort & Marina, The Breakers, Pleasant View Resort, and Sunset Bay Marina.
Chamber CEO Travis McLeese said, “This event is special. I was very fortunate to inherit such a fun event that draws people to this community. Not only is it the Chambers largest fundraiser, we know it makes an impact on our marinas and lake businesses. To have these kinds of numbers with the weather forecast that we had shows the interest in the event. If we would have had a better weather forecast, I believe we could have had over 1,000 people play.”
