Dyersburg, TN– Saturday around 12:30 a.m., Dyersburg police responded to a domestic assault involving a knife on Harris Street. Officers spoke with multiple family members in the home who reported that a 12-year-old family member had been involved in an altercation with another family member. The 12-year-old retrieved a knife from a drawer and starting swinging the knife toward a family member. The other family members were able to disarm the youth and held him down until DPD arrived.
The youth is charged with aggravated assault, and was ordered to be held in detention by Dyer County Juvenile Court Services, pending a detention hearing before Juvenile Court. No injuries were reported.
