The Paris Police Department will team with the Henry County Sheriff’s Department to bring to you the 2021 Citizen’s Police Academy! This class for the citizens has been well received for many years now and we look forward to offering it once again.
This is a classroom-based course with some field sessions planned and will take place on Tuesday nights and a couple of Saturdays. The classes will be approximately 3 hours in length and run from 6 pm to 9 pm on Tuesday nights. The class is scheduled to run for 10 weeks concluding in early November. There is a small fee of $30 per student associated with the course to assist with the purchase of items related to the class.
Now then this won’t qualify you to be the next Sheriff or Chief, but it will give you a little better understanding of what local law enforcement officers can and can’t do, and some of the issues they deal with daily. Anyone who is interested, we encourage you to apply and learn more about the profession. Applications can be picked up at the Paris Police Department at 100 N. Caldwell Street or the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at 210 Forrest Heights.
The deadline to apply is August 6th, 2021.
