New Johnsonville, Tenn.–The Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge’s annual Canada goose banding day was held Friday at Duck River Bottoms. The collaborative effort with Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency produced 75 recaptures with 203 newly banded resident geese for a total of 278 geese. US Fish and Wildlife Service staff along with TWRA staff, wildlife intern students from five different area refuges along with many volunteers work hard to pull off this amazing feat in just a few hours.
