Tiptonville, Tenn.–The Region 1 Reservoir Fisheries Crew established approximately 50 spawning structures in the Kirby Pocket area at Reelfoot Lake to improve the spawning habitat for largemouth bass. TWRA will monitor these structures to determine their use each spring, and if successful, will develop more structures in the future.
The fisheries crew secured the structures to a pallet, and pebble rock was distributed within the plastic bowl.
In addition, the structure was attached above the dish as largemouth bass prefer to spawn near structure. Finally, as shown in the pics, the entire structure was placed in strategic locations for use by largemouth bass.
