McKenzie, Tenn.–Carroll Lake is becoming more handicapped-accessible. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is developing an ADA sidewalk from the parking lot to the main fishing pier. TWRA Fisheries Biologist Tim Broadbent said they also are developing two new handicapped parking spots at the lake. Carroll Lake was reopened May 1 of 202. Carroll Lake has been closed since June 2014 when flooding destroyed the spillway. The lake was drained and through hard work by the TWRA, it was dredged and restocked and the spillway repaired.
