
Union City, Tenn.–After 38 years of service to Union City Energy Authority, Jerry Bailey, CEO of the organization, plans to retire June 30th of this year.
Bailey has dedicated a career to building an electric system that is dependable and on the cutting edge of today’s technology.
Bailey did not just stop there; in the last five years he has headed up the construction and implementation of a fiber network system to serve the electric system’s customers in the Union City area.
UCES officials said in a press release, “We often times take for granted the electricity we receive to our homes and businesses because of the dependable system he has helped design. Jerry had a vision to provide Union City Energy customers with a fiber network system that is dependable, while providing the services and reputation he has strived for on the electrical side. Jerry has led a team over the years of line crews, electricians, customer service representatives, engineering department, and now a fiber crew to focus on making this company an asset to this community. His work ethic, integrity, and community focus of providing the best service has been an asset to this community for the duration of his career.”
Bailey said, “It’s been an honor to serve the people in the Union City Area. I have enjoyed working with wonderful people, including customers, Employees, Energy Board and many others. I know the system will continue to put customers first in both service and rates in the future”.
Kyle Ross, currently Vice President of the organization, will replace Bailey upon his retirement as CEO. Bailey said, “I know Kyle will continue to provide a high level of service that our customers have come to expect. Kyle’s knowledge of the system along with his management skills will prove to be a value to the company and lead it well into the future.”
Bailey said after his retirement he plans on visiting family and friends, traveling and pursuing his hobbies.
