Springville, Tenn.–An unoccupied house trailer was heavily damaged in an early-morning fire in Springville.

The Paris Landing Volunteer Fire Department and Henry County Sheriff’s office were dispatched at 3:30 a.m. today on a report of a trailer smoking at 221 Sloan Road.  Arriving units found a mobile home with heavy smoke and flames showing.

Fire Chief Reggie Coles said the trailer is owned by Alvie Hillard. The trailer was only used for storage and unoccupied.  The trailer suffered heavy smoke and fire damage, with loss estimated at $10,000.

Coles said, “A neighbor said he heard what sounded like an explosion and discovered the fire.  The exact cause is still not determined but appears to be electrical in nature.”

Paris Landing had three trucks and five personnel on the scene for 1 1/2 hours.  Paris Fire Department sent one truck and two personnel for automatic mutual aid.
