MARTIN, Tenn. – The Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association named 196 Scholastic All-Americans from 28 different universities and the University of Tennessee at Martin accounted for four of those spots as Celia Gelpey, Rachel Mills, Abigail Donald and Nick Fares each brought home the award.
This marks the second straight year that Gelpey and Mills earned the CRCA’s top academic accolade and first career honor for both Donald and Fares. To be eligible for Scholastic All-American status, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.2 Grade Point Average for their collegiate career.
Gelpey is a senior agriculture major who hails from Danvers, Mass. This award is the latest in a string of academic accolades in her Skyhawk career as she is also a three-time Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipient and earned an OVC Medal of Honor for a perfect 4.0 GPA for the 2018-19 academic year.
A junior from Irwin, Pa., Mills has also chalked up a pair of OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll awards – including an OVC Medal of Honor for an unblemished 4.0 GPA during the 2018-19 academic year. She is majoring in biology at UT Martin.
Donald wrapped up her junior season in 2020-21 as the Missoula, Mont. native is a social work major. In 2019-20, she claimed her first career mention on the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
Hailing from Springboro, Ohio, Fares registered the first OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll award in his young career in 2019-20. The Skyhawk sophomore is majoring in management at UT Martin.
