Paris, Tenn.–As of 4 p.m. Friday afternoon, 25 of the 35 suspects in “Operation Walk The Line” had been arrested in Henry County.

Henry County Sheriff Josh Frey told RadioNWTN this afternoon that 25 of the 35 that the Metro Crime Unit had drawn drug charges against have now been booked into the Henry County Jail.

Frey said, “Teams of officers from several agencies are still looking for the defendants who remain at large and will continue through the weekend.”

During the course of the round up officers have arrested an additional two other subjects who were not on the original list, Frey said.

Officers have seized crack cocaine, marijuana, meth, drug paraphernalia and approximately $12,000.00 cash. He said they seized at least two pounds in marijuana and THC-laced marijuana products, two guns and one car so far.

Today’s results are due to several months of investigation work conducted by the Henry County Sheriff Office, Paris Police Department, and Metro Crime Unit, he said. Assisting in the Operation are officers from the TBI, 24th Judicial Drug Task Force, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and McKenzie Police.

The Operation began early this morning when officers conducted a search warrant at 111 North Porter Street which yielded arrests and the seizure of 19 individually wrapped “rocks” of crack cocaine, and an additional amount of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, two firearms and more than $9,000 in cash believed to be from drug proceeds.

Frey said a full list of defendants and charges will be released at the conclusion of the operation.

“I would like to thank the officers present today for all their help and hard work in making an operation like this possible. The public has also been a major help during the investigation by making complaints that lead our investigators to area’s of drug trafficking. We continue to ask the public to make reports of any suspicious activities in their neighborhood,” Frey said.

The Operation began early this morning to apprehend offenders of various drug related charges.  Paris Police Chief Ricky Watson said the joint operation is the result of a several months-long effort to curb the illegal sale of narcotics.
