Russellville, Arkansas–The Pope’s Concessions truck has been recovered in Russellville, Arkansas and the man who stole it is in custody.
That’s the word from James Roy Pope of Greenfield, owner of the popular business.
Pope began posting on his Facebook page earlier this week that the truck had been stolen and that the suspect was Chris Price of Crestview, Florida, who had a lot of experience in the carnival and concessions business.
Pope’s network of friends came to the rescue last night. Pope told RadioNWTN, “A Facebook friend of a friend saw it and called their friend who in turn called us, we called the Carroll County Sheriff, who called Russellville Arkansas police! All happened in about five minutes time. They then searched area motels found him at the first one.”
Like other concession businesses, the popular Pope’s Concessions had a rough year in 2020, due to the COVID pandemic. They had just started appearing at events again when the truck was stolen.
Pope posted photos of the truck–a Chevrolet white box truck with lime green cab and Pope’s Concessions logos on each side–along with locations where it was last seen over the past few days.
Pope thanked Brian and Elizabeth Tarkington for spotting the stolen truck and calling to report it.
