Paris, Tenn.–The Paris Police, Henry County Sheriff’s Office and Metro Crime Unit are conducting a joint operation called “Operation: Walk The Line” today, which is netting dozens of arrests.
As of 9:30 a.m., the operation was still ongoing. Paris Police Chief Ricky Watson said this morning additional agencies assisting with the operation are the 24th Judicial Drug Task Force, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
The Operation began early this morning to apprehend offenders of various drug related charges. The joint operation is the result of a several months-long effort to curb the illegal sale of narcotics, Watson said.
There are a total of 35 defendants as a result of the ongoing operation. Additionally, officers conducted a search warrant at 111 North Porter Street to begin the operation which yielded the seizure of 19 individually wrapped “rocks” of crack cocaine, and an additional amount of crack cocaine. There was also paraphernalia associated with the sale of crack cocaine, 2 firearms, and more than $9,000 cash believed to be drug proceeds, seized as a result of that search warrant.
