utm-outstanding

MARTIN, Tenn. – Stephanie Sellers and Anthony Prewitt, both of Martin, received Spring 2021 Outstanding Employee Awards from the University of Tennessee at Martin during a surprise virtual reception on April 29.

Sellers is the student services specialist for UT Martin’s Regional Centers and Online Programs and provides support to online faculty and students. She has been instrumental in the success of the online agribusiness program and has been diligent in supporting the university and its mission, especially for faculty new to online teaching.

“Faculty have extreme confidence in her, no matter the issue,” coworkers wrote in Sellers’ nomination package. “She is always looking for ways to improve our processes and make them more efficient for our online students and faculty.”

Sellers has served as advisor for the Non-Traditional Student Association and volunteers her time to Tennessee Promise mentoring, the university’s Annual Civil Rights Conference and other programs on campus.

Prewitt is the co-interim director for the Office of Student Life and Multicultural Affairs, as well as the campus coordinator for the UT Promise Scholarship Program. He works tirelessly to ensure hundreds of UT Martin students have access to this scholarship.

“Anthony is a true servant leader, providing mentorship and support to students and colleagues alike,” wrote his coworkers in his nomination letter. “Through endless examples of action, he models how to create an inclusive space in which all persons may thrive academically, professionally and personally.”

Prewitt also serves as the National Panhellenic Council adviser, co-adviser of the Flight Crew, a leader in the “Call Me Mister” program, and other campus initiatives and programs.

UT Martin Outstanding Employee Awards are given to one exempt and one non-exempt employee each semester. Recipients are nominated by their coworkers and chosen by a selection committee.
