Paris, Tenn.–The Volunteer Auxiliary at Henry County Medical Center met in March 2021 for the first time since June 2020, due to COVID-19.  At the meeting, the Volunteer Auxiliary installed the officers who have been serving since July 2020 as well as awarded service and recognition to two special volunteers.

The following officers were installed:

  • President – Joyce Spinn
  • Vice President – Wanda Davis
  • Secretary – Carolyn Todd
  • Treasurer – Mary Lou Walker
  • Assistant Treasurer – Barbara Skelley
  • Chaplain – Sally Thomas
  • Historian – Karen McKibben

Also at the meeting, Joyce Spinn, Auxiliary President, received her 4,500 hours service recognition pin.

Additionally, Wanda Davis, Vice President, received the Auxiliary Star Volunteer award for outstanding character and continuously going above and beyond in her duties as an Auxiliary volunteer.  She was to be recognized in July 2020, but due to COVID-19, this was the first opportunity to do so.

During FY2020, the Volunteer Auxiliary made Christmas stockings for newborns, sewed items for the newborns in the nursery, collected Back to School items as well as gloves, scarves, and mittens for the Family Resource Center, along with distributing almost $3,000 in scholarships to students as well as funded many projects for the organization.
