
Henry, Tenn.–The city of Henry officially has welcomed Police Chief Thomas Tharpe with a swearing-in ceremony Thursday.
Tharpe has returned to Henry County after a full career in the military and law enforcement. Tharpe was a security technician in Afghanistan, a criminal justice instructor and Military Policeman in Kuwait, served in the Army National Guard and was a sargeant with the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office.
Henry Mayor Dustin Odom said, “He has quite the resume and we’re very happy to have him here.”
Tharpe started his law enforcement career in Henry County and has worked in various agencies such as the local Drug Task Force.
Odom said Tharpe’s wide-ranging experience will help him serve the community of Henry.
