Martin, Tenn.–A Martin man is in custody after resisting arrest following a domestic incident early Friday.
According to Martin Assistant Police Chief Phillip Fuqua, Charles Breeden, age 37, was taken in custody shortly before noon.
Patroman Grayson Whitworth found Breeden–who matched the description of the suspect in the domestic assault– in the George Street-Elm Street area.
When Whitworth tried to take Breeden into custody, he resisted and approached the officer in an aggressive manner. Whitworth tased Breeden in the chest, at which point Breeden pulled the taser prongs off his chest and kept resisting efforts to handcuff him.
UT Martin Public Safety Officer Charlie Jahr then arrived and assisted in taking Breeden into custody. After being evaluated by the EMS at the scene, Breeden was taken to the Martin PD.
