Paris, Tenn.–24th Judicial District Circuit Court Judge Donald E. Parish has announced the appointment of former Paris City Commissioner Terry Fuller to serve as the Henry County Grand Jury Foreman for a two-year term.
Fuller is married to the former Sabra E. Freeman and both are semi-retired. He retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. They have two daughters, Andrea and Chelsea, and two grandsons, Conner and Kainon.
He is a graduate of Merry High School in Jackson. He furthered his education in the U.S. Navy Avionic Training School, and is a graduate of the Department of Defense Race Relations Education Academy and the U.S. Navy Human Resources Management School.
Fuller also has been a minister for 39 years with congregations in California and Tennessee including serving as Pastor at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Atwood and Bird’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Whitlock.
In addition to serving on the Paris City Commission, he has been a member and served on the board of a number of local groups including the Regional Planning Commission, City/County Library Board, Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors, and the Paris/Henry County Branch of the NAACP. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Paris Utilities Authority, the City of Paris Housing Authority, and the Housing Board of Adjustment and Appeals.
Fuller follows Robert Vaughn of Paris who recently completed a six-year appointment as foreman. Vaughn said, “It has been an honor to serve as the foreman of the grand jury. Henry Countians are blessed with highly skilled, dedicated, hard working people throughout the court system. I would like to especially recognize the law enforcement personnel in Henry County. When presenting to the Grand Jury, they consistently conducted themselves as well trained professionals. I’m confident Mr. Fuller will be successful and find all of the individuals mentioned helpful, making it much easier for him to fulfill the responsibilities of the foreman of the grand jury.”
Judge Donald Parish said, “I appreciate the service of Mr. Vaughn to the community and am looking forward to working with Mr. Fuller in this capacity.”
The Henry County Grand Jury was scheduled to meet again on Monday, March 1, 2021, but due to COVID19 and a recent order by the Tennessee Supreme Court, Judge Donald Parish has suspended that meeting to help reduce the potential exposure of COVID19. The grand jury will meet next on Monday, July 5, 2021.
