
Martin, Tenn.–A ‘shots-fired’ incident near the University of Tennessee at Martin campus Saturday night is under investigation by the Martin Police Department.
According to a police report released by Assistant Chief Phillip Fuqua, Officer Aaron Carter responded to the call in the area of 405 Oxford Street around 6:46 p.m. Saturday night. He found a white Toyota Avalon with gun shots to the driver and passenger side rear windows.
A witness said he saw someone wearing a white shirt running through the area after the shots were heard. The PD checked the immediate area for any other damage, such as to buildings, and searched for shell casings, but didn’t find any..
The UT Martin Department of Public Safety also responded to the scene.
