Paris, Tenn.–A Paris man was arrested on several charges after leading area law enforcement on an early-morning chase through three counties.

Christopher Morgan, age 36, of Old Union Loop, is being held on $10,000 bond and charged with felony evading, reckless endangerment and speeding.

The pursuit began in Montgomery County, moved through Stewart County and finally ended in Henry County, where he was arrested in the driveway of his home on Old Union Loop.

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the local department was alerted by the Stewart County Sheriff’s Office at 3:07 a.m. Tuesday that Morgan was headed toward Henry County. He reportedly had been clocked at 101 mph in a 65 mph zone when Deputy Steven Dean Jr. spotted him on Bull Durham Rd.

Other deputies–Sgt. Blake Jenkins, Cpl. Phillip Barton and Deputy Kyle Waldron–helped slowing Morgan down with spike sticks set up on Hwy. 79. The spike sticks did deflate the driver’s side tires on Morgan’s vehicle, but Morgan kept driving on the Hwy. 218 Bypass, then Hwy. 69A and then onto Old Union Loop.

Cpl. Barton was not injured when he drove his patrol car into a tree as he was trying to keep Morgan from fleeing further.
