Adult Pottery Classes 2021
The Pottery Program at Paris Academy for the Arts welcomes students to classes taught by talented teacher-artists. The program builds on skill development learned in earlier classes or by instructor recommendations.
See below for a description of adult pottery classes, beginning February 27, 2021.
Pottery I – Introduction to Handbuilding for Adults
Instructor: Dan Knowles (banjo.dan.knowles@gmail.com)
During this 8-week course, students will learn handbuilding techniques, glazing, and fundamentals of the firing process. Students will complete several projects and can purchase additional clay if desired.
Class Meets:
6-8 pm, Thursdays
March 4 – April 22
Maximum Class Size: 4 students
Fee: $175 ($50 non-refundable deposit is due to reserve seat; balance is due at first class). Beginning students need a tool kit, which is available for purchase of $20.
Pottery II – Wheel Throwing (Saturdays)
Instructor: Mary Margaret Ulderich (ulderichmm@live.com)
During this 6-week course, students will learn wheel throwing basics through both group and individualized instruction each session. Students may complete projects at varying paces and can purchase additional clay if desired.
Class Meets:
9-11:30am, Saturdays
February 27 – March 27 & April 10
Max. Class Size: 4-5 students
